The Financial Experts in the USA disagree whether we are in a recession or not. Some say we are, because house prices are down and gas prices are up, which is causing the price of groceries to go way up. (Top Ramen is up to just 10 boxes for a nickel instead of a dozen) Others say since our GNP is up, it is not a recession.
So using all the authority I got from my 2 semesters of Economics (one in high school and one in college) I am going to officially declare that:
We are in a recession.
It has been told to me (by a very reliable source) that he read an article that says once we admit we are in a recession, we can get out of it quicker. Since my blog is an international phenomenon, (thanks Jesper!) I will use all my clout to aid the USA out of this recession. (George, you can call me on my cell to thank me)
I would love to hear from all of you, with your thoughts, especially those blonde political experts I know read this blog.

could you define a recession?
I did not not like economics... so this is all greek to me!
Well...Mark and I are about to watch our favorite TV show (LOST) and being the extremely intelligent political scientist that I am, I will have to research this recession debate. I will send you an 8 page mini-dissertation on this topic with a one page abstract and at LEAST ten resources for your pleasure. However, I think that the real debate at large is how our country is quite possibly going to "ell in a handbasket with the possibility of Obama as our president. His popularity is in part thanks to the great socialist state of Washington. (No offense you washingtonians)
Go repubs
Apparently I need to come over to your house more often so you realize my hair is NOT blond!! :o) I have to agree with you though...I, too, think we're in a recession and unfortunately I ain't seein a light at the end of the tunnel. :o( I sure hope things turn around soon cuz I refuse to spend more on a gallon of gas than on a gallon of milk. It's just not right...
